Description	The telegraph is just one of many forms of communication using signals. In this case, electrical signals are sent over a wire. The telegraph operator depresses the large round lever using Morse Code to send the message. This instrument, made about 1900, also receives messages from other operators by listening to the dots and dashes from the sounder on the left. Telegraph communication transmitted news all over the world and helped railroad companies communicate across the country.
